Sculpted barrel out of Plastercine, ready for moulding.
The barrel mould, using OOMOO 30. I am in love with this product. It is a lovely purple colour, and the final product is a great silicone product. Flexible, but not too flexible, and durable. It took the details of the sculpt really well.
The final mould out of the plastic housing. I'm really please on how it worked out.
The sculpt cast in Smooth Cast 325. I was a little nervous, since the pot life is 2.5 minutes, and the cure time is 10 minutes. I was worried that I wouldn't get it in all the nooks and crannies. But it was not the case! And it was a snap to mix up, by volume. I'm happy with the small amount of bubbles too. Nothing a bit of paint will cover up.
Final barrel with iron and rust paint. I'm really pleased. I hope to make around 5 of them. They are a snap to make.
